ARLINGTON, Texas – Southern Utah’s Ava Uhrich and UT Arlington’s Kira Reynolds have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Jan. 11.
 
Uhrich, a junior forward, collected her second WAC Player of the Week honor in the last three weeks after notching a pair of double-doubles last week. Uhrich led Southern Utah to a win over Utah Valley with 20 points and 16 rebounds and followed with 19 points and 17 boards in an overtime contest with California Baptist. Uhrich is now second in the WAC with seven double-doubles this season and is leading the conference with a 12.75 rebounding average in league play.
 
Reynolds, a freshman forward, tied for the most points scored in the game between UT Arlington and Abilene Christian with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting (75.0 FG%) and added seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks. Reynolds continues to lead the WAC in blocked shots this season, averaging 3.00 blocks per game.
