DENVER – California Baptist's Lexy Ram has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 18 through Nov. 24.
Ram, a senior guard from Tucson, Ariz., led the undefeated Lancers to a pair of wins on the week with two 30-point games. On Thursday against Northern Arizona, she put up 32 points on 12-of-15 shooting to help CBU to the 98-79 win. She followed that up with 31 points and 12 rebounds in an 85-81 double-overtime win over visiting UC Santa Barbara. On the young season, she is fourth in the WAC in scoring at 16.7 points per game and third in rebounding at 8.8 rebounds per game.
Other nominees included: Chicago State's Bethany Carstens averaged 10.5 ppg in home losses to Loyola (Chicago) and Green Bay … Grand Canyon's Da'jah Daniel scored 19 points with nine rebounds in a loss to Cal State Fullerton … UT Rio Grande Valley's Trelynn Tyler scored 29 points in her season-debut against Texas … Utah Valley's Eve Braslis matched her season-high in scoring with 15 points in a loss at UC Riverside.
