ARLINGTON, Texas – Cross country teams from around the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) membership are set to compete at regional meets across the Western United States this weekend in hopes of earning coveted slots into the 2023 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Nov. 18 at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Virginia. Regional meets are scheduled to be held at nine different competition sites on Nov. 10.
WAC cross country teams will be competing at a total of three regional locations, the
NCAA Mountain Region meet at Chaparral Ridge Cross Country Course in Lubbock, the
NCAA South Central Region meet at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas and the
NCAA West Region meet at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, California.
WAC men’s cross country champion California Baptist was the top ranked team in the NCAA West Region following its fourth straight conference meet victory at Zoe Park in Abilene on Oct. 27. The Lancer women checked in fifth in the West on the eve of regionals. Utah Valley’s women’s (fifth) and men’s (ninth) programs were both in the top 10 of the NCAA Mountain Region, while UT Arlington checked in as the eighth-ranked women’s team in the NCAA South Central Region.
