ARLINGTON, Texas – UTRGV midfielder Bryant Farkarlun and San José State midfielder Beau Leroux were each selected in the second round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday. Farkarlun was the second pick of the second round (31st overall) to Austin FC, while Leroux went 13th in round two (42nd overall) to the San José Earthquakes.

Multiple WAC players have now been chosen in the same MLS SuperDraft on five occasions dating back to 2018, with a record six players from the conference being drafted in 2022. Three first-round picks from the WAC were part of the 2022 class.

Farkarlun, a graduate transfer this past season to UTRGV from Houston Christian, was a two-time All-WAC choice, landing on the second team in 2022 at HCU before rising to the first team in 2023 with UTRGV. Farkarlun tallied five goals over 11 starts in his graduate student campaign, which included three goals scored in WAC matches. Farkarlun capped his collegiate goal account with a brace against San José State in the 2023 season finale for the Vaqueros to finish with 22 career goals.

Leroux competed three seasons at San José State and was a 2022 All-WAC First Team and all-region team selection, along with landing on the 2021 WAC All-Freshman Team. Over 43 matches (35 starts) for the Spartans, Leroux notched seven goals (three match-winners) and three assists for 17 career points scored.
