ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State University’s Jace Poole and Sage Lancaster have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on September 28.
 
Jace Poole, a sophomore, put on a strong showing in the men’s 8K race, finishing 36th with a time of 24:56.3 and an average mile pace of 5:01.0. His effort helped the Texans secure a 10th place team finish. 
 
On the women’s side, sophomore Sage Lancaster set a new personal record in the 5K race, crossing the line in 48th place with a time of 17:46.4 and an average mile pace of 5:43.2. Lancaster’s performance helped to lead the Texans women to a 10th place overall finish.
