ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Sila Kiplagat has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the competition week ending on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Kiplagat, a freshman, earned an individual race victory in just his second career collegiate meet competing at the SUU Color Country Invitational on Oct. 4 in Cedar City, Utah. Kiplagat ran a 6K time of 17:39.3 (average mile split of 4:44.1) to lead four Utah Valley runners who crossed the line among the top five finishers.
