2025 UCU WAC Baseball Tournament Central

ARLINGTON, Texas – Sacramento State earned a piece of its third Western Athletic Conference (WAC) baseball regular-season title, and its first since 2014, and officially claimed the top seed in the 2025 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament. The Hornets will headline eight teams vying for the tournament championship on May 20-24 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona.

Sacramento State posted a 31-24 (15-9 WAC, .625) record during the regular season to finish in a tie atop the WAC standings. The Hornets swept Abilene Christian (April 4-6) to earn the tiebreaker for the one seed and won series against Grand Canyon (May 2-4) and Utah Valley (May 9-11) during the 2025 campaign. Sacramento State previously won the 2014, 2017 and 2019 WAC tournament titles in Mesa.

Abilene Christian (31-21, 15-9 WAC, .625) secured the second tournament seed for the second straight season while claiming its first share of a WAC regular-season baseball championship. The Wildcats swept fellow tournament teams Utah Tech (April 11-13) and UT Arlington (April 17-18) during the regular season, adding series wins against Tarleton State (May 9-11) and California Baptist (May 15-17).

Remaining tournament seeds included No. 3 Utah Valley (28-27, 13-11 WAC, .542), No. 4 Grand Canyon (30-25, 13-11 WAC, .542), No. 5 California Baptist (30-26, 12-12 WAC, .500), No. 6 Tarleton State (24-31, 12-12 WAC, .500), No. 7 UT Arlington (19-31, 11-13 WAC, .458) and No. 8 Utah Tech (23-29, 9-15 WAC, .375).

The 2025 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament will begin with a pair of single-elimination opening round games featuring No. 6 Tarleton State against No. 7 UT Arlington at noon MST and No. 5 California Baptist and No. 8 Utah Tech at 4 p.m. MST on May 20 at Hohokam Stadium. Double elimination begins the following day when No. 3 Utah Valley faces the game one winner at noon MST and No. 4 Grand Canyon matches up with the game two winner at 4 p.m. MST on May 21. No. 2 Abilene Christian makes its tournament debut against the game three winner at 9:30 a.m. MST before No. 1 Sacramento State squares off with the game four winner at 12:30 p.m. MST on May 22 before a pair of elimination games take place at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. MST that night.

After three semifinal games at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. MST on May 23, the championship game of the 2025 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament is scheduled for May 24 at 3 p.m. MST. The ‘if necessary’ game (if both remaining teams in the field have one loss) would follow at 7 p.m. MST. All tournament games will air live on ESPN+.
