ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley officially received the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) automatic conference bid into the 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship on Monday.
The No. 4 seeded Wolverines (32-27) were one of four teams named to the NCAA Eugene Regional, also featuring No. 12 national seed and host Oregon, No. 2 seed Arizona and No. 3 seed Cal Poly.
Utah Valley finished the regular season with a 13-11 record in WAC play, claiming the third seed in the 2025 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament that was held last week in Mesa, Arizona. The Wolverines were the first undefeated winner at the WAC tournament since 2022, batting .338 as a team over the course of a 4-0 tournament run while outscoring the opposition 40-18 for the week. Utah Valley also combined to throw the first no-hitter in WAC tournament history during the semifinal round against top seeded Sacramento State.
Since 1963 WAC programs have won a combined 197 games in the NCAA Baseball Championship. Arizona (1963, 1966, 1970, 1976 National Champion), Arizona State (1964, 1965 National Champion, 1967 National Champion, 1969 National Champion, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977 National Champion, 1978), Brigham Young (1968, 1971), Hawai’I (1980), Rice (1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 National Champion) and Fresno State (2008 National Champion) have previously represented the WAC at the College World Series.
