No. 12 Seed NM State to Face Auburn in NCAA Tournament

The 2019 WAC Tournament Champion NM State men's basketball team will take on No. 5-seed Auburn in the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City Diego at 11:30 a.m. MT this Thursday, March 21.

The Aggies (30-4) enter the tournament as a No. 12 seed and earned the WAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight years. This is NM State's 25th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

The Aggies utilize a 14-man rotation with just one player that averages more than 25 minutes per game. They are led by first team All-WAC honoree and WAC All-Tournament Team selection Terrell Brown, who averages 11.3 points per game. Trevelin Queen was named WAC Tournament MVP after scoring 27 points, including six three-pointers, in the WAC Tournament title game against Grand Canyon.

NM State takes on Auburn (26-9), a team that earned an the automatic bid out of the SEC after winning the SEC Tournament for the first time since 1985. The Tigers are led by Bryce Brown and Jared Harper who average 15.7 and 15.4 points per game, respectively. Chuma Okeke adds 11.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
