DENVER - After going unbeaten in WAC play, the Seattle U Redhawks will be the top seed in next week's WAC Men's Soccer Tournament at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Redhawks, who won their first of three tournament titles in 2013 when the competition was last at Air Force, went 10-0-1 in WAC play with their lone draw coming nearly a month ago at UNLV. SU will have the lone bye in the tournament and will take the pitch for the first time on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
Utah Valley earns the second seed after going 8-3-0 in league play. The Wolverines will take on Kansas City at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The Roos earned the seventh seed to return to the WAC Tournament for the first time since 2014.
Host Air Force earns the third seed after going 6-5-0 in WAC games. The Falcons will look to become the first host school since the WAC reinstituted men's soccer in 2013 to make it to the title game. Air Force will open tournament play on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Houston Baptist. The Huskies earned the sixth seed after beating Kansas City, 2-0, on Decision Day.
Fourth-seeded CSU Bakersfield and fifth-seeded San José State will kick off the tournament at noon on Wednesday. The 'Runners tied Air Force for third place in the regular season standings but lost a tiebreaker. The Spartans will be looking to make their third straight title game in 2019.
