DENVER –
NM State's Mya Felder and Grand Canyon's Brianna Aguilar have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for April 29-May 5. This is the third honor of the season and of her career for Felder and the first honor of the season and fifth of her career for Aguilar.

Felder, a freshman third baseman from Fresno, Calif., hit .706 with a 1.235 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage as the Aggies went 4-1 last week, including a win over No. 17 Texas Tech. She had multiple hits in four of the last five games and had a hit in all five contests. Felder was 12-of-17 with three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs. In the win over the Red Raiders, she was 3-for-4 with a solo homer. In the series opener at CSU Bakersfield, Felder recorded six of her 11 RBIs for the week as she was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a home run.

Aguilar, a junior right-hander from Tucson, Ariz., went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances last week. She threw the first no-hitter of her career in an 11-0 shutout of Kansas City in the series finale. Only a hit batter kept Aguilar from a perfect game as the WAC leader in ERA for conference play (0.70) did not issue a walk. Ten of her 15 outs came on ground balls and only two UMKC batters hit the ball out of the infield. Aguilar also earned the win in relief in the series opener after coming in for 2.0
innings. She finished the week with five strikeouts and no walks over 7.0 innings while allowing just one hit and no runs. Aguilar also held opponents to a .045 batting average.
