Seattle U to Face Mississippi State at Seattle Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – Seattle U, which won its first-ever WAC Tournament title after going 3-0 and beating NM State 3-2 in the championship game Saturday, will stay in Seattle for the Seattle Regional in the NCAA Championship this Friday.

The Redhawks (39-15) will face Mississippi State (33-21) at 4:30 p.m. (PT) this Friday, May 17. No. 3 and host Washington (45-7) will face Fordham (29-24) on the other side of the bracket in the double elimination regional.

The Redhawks are led by first team All-WAC honoree Ally Choate, who leads the WAC in batting average (.404) and on-base percentage (.462), and first team All-WAC and WAC Tournament Team selection Kaylee Ree, who is hitting .335 with 10 doubles, one triple, four homers and 31 RBIs. WAC Tournament MVP Carley Nance leads Seattle U in the circle with a 1.97 ERA. She is 17-8 on the season with 99 strikeouts and one save.

The Bulldogs are led by Mia Davidson, a Top 10 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year, with a .389 batting average and .917 slugging percentage. She has 25 home runs and 62 RBIs on the year. Fa Leilua and Kat Moore were also first team All-SEC selections. Leilua is hitting .367 with 22 homers and 52 RBIs, while Moore has six doubles, four triples, 11 homers and 41 RBIs.

The Redhawks run-ruled Fordham 11-3 and fell 1-0 to the Huskies earlier this season.
