DENVER – Seattle U's Jacques Hebert and Kansas City's Perry Adderley have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 12-18.
Hebert, a senior from Honolulu, Hawaii, broke the Seattle U mile run record for the third time this season clocking in at 4:09.62. He earned eighth at the Last Chance Elite College meet. Hebert's time sits second-best in the conference this season.
Adderley, a senior from Maryville, Mo., took 7th in the Shot Put and 15th in the Weight Throw at the Nebraska Tune-Up. His throws of 15.73 in Shot Put and 14.85 in Weight Throw top other WAC competitors from the week. He currently sits atop the WAC in the Weight Throw and is second-best in the Shot Put.
Other track nominees: Kansas City's Josh Sanders ran a 1:21.57 in the 600 meter run to put him third fastest in in school history… Ricardo Mendoza of UT Rio Grande Valley posted the seventh-fastest mile time and fifth-fastest 800m time in program history.
Other field nominees: Grand Canyon's Max Myers recorded personal best throws in the Shot Put and Weight Throw while taking third in the Shot Put… Ricardo Espinoza of UT Rio Grande Valley took fifth in the Shot Put with a mark of 14.64m.
