DENVER – California Baptist's Georgia Dale has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 3 through Dec. 9.
Dale, a sophomore guard from Melbourne, Australia (Box Hill Senior Secondary College), averaged 12 points per game in leading the Lancers to wins over UC Riverside and Fresno Pacific. Against UCR, she scored seven points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. She upped her game against Fresno Pacific, scoring 19 points with three assists and two steals in the 93-71 win. She ranks third in the WAC this season in steals at 2.2 per game and her 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio is a league-best.
Other nominees included: Chicago State's Kourtney Crane scored a career-high 23 points in a loss to SIUE on Saturday … Kansas City's Ericka Mattingly notched her third double-double of the season against Missouri-St. Louis, scoring 21 points to go with 12 rebounds in the 92-63 win … UT Rio Grande Valley's Madison Northcutt scored 14.5 points per game with 7.0 rebounds per game as UTRGV split games with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Southern … Utah Valley's Sophia Jacobson averaged 14.0 points per game in a pair of road losses at Southern Utah and Idaho State.
