DENVER – Utah Valley's Jordan Holland has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 10 through Dec. 16.
Holland, a junior forward from Los Lunas, N.M. (Los Lunas HS), led the WAC in scoring last week and was second in both shooting percentage and rebounding. On the road at Utah State, she scored a career-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting and brought down 10 rebounds to go with two steals in a five-point loss. It was her second 20-point game and first double-double of the season.
Other nominees included: California Baptist's Georgia Dale scored a game-high 17 points in the Lancers' 33-point win over Notre Dame de Namur … Grand Canyon's AJ Cephas picked up the double-double in a loss at Long Beach State with 12 points and 12 rebounds …. NM State's Brooke Salas averaged 19.5 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game in a home split against Denver and New Mexico.
