DENVER – The bracket for the 2019 WAC Women's Basketball Tournament is set and for the fifth straight season, the NM State Aggies will be the top seed at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

The Aggies earned the regular season title and the top seed after finishing with a 15-1 record in conference play. NM State is led by senior Brooke Salas and junior Gia Pack, who enter the tournament averaging 19.2 and 15.8 points per game respectively.

UT Rio Grande Valley will be the second seed after going 10-6 in WAC play. Idil Türk leads the Vaqueros into the tournament, averaging 10.9 points per game under first-year head coach Lane Lord.

CSU Bakersfield will be the third seed after earning a win on the final day to improve to 9-7 in WAC play. CSUB won a tiebreaker over Kansas City after going 2-0 against the Roos this season. The 'Runners are led by 16.6 points per game from Alexxus Gilbert.

The fourth seed goes to Kansas City. The Roos enter the tournament with a record of 9-7 in conference play and are led by 19.0 points, 6.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game from junior Ericka Mattingly.

The Roos' first-round opponent will be Utah Valley. Heading to Las Vegas with a conference record of 8-8, the Wolverines are led by Jordan Holland, who finished the regular season with a scoring average of 13.7 points per game. UMKC and UVU will tip at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Grand Canyon earns the sixth-seed after going 5-11 in WAC play. The Lopes are led by 10.2 points per game from AJ Cephas and will wrap up the first day of tournament play with the 8:30 p.m. game against CSU Bakersfield.

Defending tournament champion Seattle U will have a tough hill to climb, entering this year's edition as the seventh seed. The Redhawks, who are led by 13.3 points per game from Joana Alves, will take on UT Rio Grande Valley in the first round on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Chicago State will be the eighth seed and will take on NM State in the tournament opener on Wednesday at noon. The Cougars are led by 12.0 points per game from Tyeshia Bowers and 10.6 rebounds per game from Ines Mata Boix.

The tournament begins on Wednesday, March 13 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. All quarterfinal and semifinal games will be on ESPN+ with Saturday's title game scheduled for ESPN3.
