WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

 

DENVER – Seattle U's Courtney Murphy has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for March 4 through March 10.

Murphy, a freshman guard from Sunshine Coast, Australia (Mountain Creek State HS), led the Redhawks to a road sweep on the weekend, scoring 16 points with seven rebounds in a win at CSU Bakersfield and ending the regular season with a 10-point, nine-rebound performance in a win at Grand Canyon.

Other nominees included: California Baptist's Caitlyn Harper averaged 13.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg in a home split to end CBU's regular season … Grand Canyon's AJ Cephas scored 20 points in a home loss to Seattle U on Saturday afternoon … Kansas City's Ericka Mattingly put up 19 points as the Roos doubled-up ChIcago State, 100-50, in the regular season finale … UT Rio Grande Valley's Idil Turk scored a career-high 25 points in a close loss to California Baptist on Thursday.
