Kansas City's Rylan Childers Earns Top Drawer Soccer Second Team All-Freshman Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women's soccer forward Rylan Childers (Grain Valley, Mo.) was recognized for her strong 2018 season performance on Tuesday in being selected as a Second Team Freshman All-American by Top Drawer Soccer.

The honor adds to a growing list of accomplishments for Childers following the completion of her first season at UMKC. Previously, the freshman forward was selected as the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Freshman of the Year in addition to the All-WAC First Team by the league's coaches. Childers was also one of four Roos to be honored with a postseason award by the United Soccer Coaches, landing on the All-Region Second Team.

Childers proved to be one of the most dynamic offensive weapons for the Roos in 2018, who captured their second-consecutive WAC regular season championship and finished in the top-15 of the entire NCAA with 51 goals scored. Childers scored a conference-leading 11 goals on the season while also leading the WAC and ranking inside the NCAA top-10 with 14 assists and 36 points.
