Colby Jackson re-joined the WAC in July of 2024 and serves as the assistant director of communications. As part of his duties Jackson oversees the communications efforts of several WAC sports, including women’s basketball and softball.
Jackson spent the 2023-24 academic year as the communications assistant at the WAC, aiding in the communications efforts for several WAC sports that included track and field, cross country, tennis and swimming and diving. Jackson also served as a communications volunteer at the 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at Globe Life Field in Arlington, writing game stories and tournament notes and helping liaise with tournament press conferences during the event.
Jackson arrived at the WAC after spending three years in the athletics media relations/strategic communications department as an undergraduate at Stephen F. Austin. Jackson worked all sporting events on campus assisting in scorekeeping and statistics and was the official scorekeeper for baseball and softball. He was the main author of men's basketball and baseball team news articles and assisted in writing for other sports when needed. Jackson’s other duties at SFA included updating player bios, creating game notes and providing commentary for softball on ESPN+.
Jackson was the president of the Sports Business Society academic club at SFA and spent all four years as an officer for the SFA Club Baseball team.
Jackson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor's degree in sports business.
