Eric Danner joined the WAC staff in September of 2016 and serves as the associate commissioner, communications. Among his duties, Danner oversees broadcasting and media relations while also working with marketing for the conference. He is also the WAC liasion with broadcast partner ESPN.
Since joining the WAC, Danner has implemented several weekly video and audio franchises, as well as continuing efforts with the initiative to help tell the stories of student-athletes and coaches around the conference. He also created the "Road to WAC Vegas" a weekly WAC basketball show that airs on ESPN+ leading up to the conference tournament, as well as serving as on-site producer for many WAC championship broadcast events.
Danner came to the WAC from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), where his titles included associate commissioner, interim commissioner, assistant commissioner and director of media relations. His duties included hosting and producing the "RMAC Showcase" a monthly magazine-style show that aired on the Altitude Sports Network. He also oversaw all RMAC video content for social media and television, and collaborated with member institutions to create feature stories about student-athletes, coaches, administrators and presidents.
Prior to joining the RMAC, Danner was the sports director at KXRM (Fox) in Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Colo. He was also co-host of Double Coverage Sports on KKTV (CBS). Prior to that, Danner worked as a news reporter and photographer for NBC affiliate KOAA and CBS affiliate KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Hailing from Aurora, Colo., Danner is a graduate of MSU Denver. He and his wife Wendy reside in Mansfield, Texas. He is the proud father of one daughter (Mara).
