Marlon Edge joined the WAC in March of 2016 and was promoted to associate commissioner in 2019. His responsibilities include overseeing NCAA and Conference rules compliance and governance, which includes processing all rules violations and managing WAC involvement in all aspects of NCAA governance for conference members. Edge coordinates the league’s comprehensive rules education program and manages the WAC’s legislative processes and agenda.
In addition, he serves as the primary liaison to various WAC committees, including the Faculty Athletics Representatives and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (WAC SAAC). Edge is also the league’s administrator for the sports of cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field, and is the main staff liaison to the league’s academic administrators.
Prior to joining the WAC, Edge spent 13 years at the Mountain West Conference, most recently as the director of compliance (2011-2016). He also served as the MW’s assistant director of compliance for one year (2010-11) and was a member of the MW communications staff (2001-2010). Edge is a member of the NCAA Division I Eligibility Center Advisory Group and has also served as a member of the NCAA Requests/Self-Report Online Feedback Team.
Edge graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He went on to earn his Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo. He and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Maylin and Kennedy.
