ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Dominque Daniels Jr. has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Jan. 21.
 
Daniels Jr., a junior transfer guard, earned his first player and second newcomer weekly citation of the season following a monster offensive performance for CBU in an 83-76 win over Southern Utah on Jan. 20. Daniels Jr. scored a conference season-high 39 points, connecting on 6-of-12 shots from 3-point range and 13-of-14 free throws for the Lancers in the victory. Daniels Jr. contributed 24 points in the second half of the contest alone, drilling three 3-pointers while hitting 9-of-10 tries from the line over the final 20 minutes to help CBU maintain its lead.
