ARLINGTON, Texas – Defending champion Grand Canyon earned the top men’s seed in the 2024 Hercules Tires Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Basketball Tournament that will take place on March 13-16 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
 
The Lopes, who finished with a regular season record of 27-4 (17-3 WAC), registered 8.420 points in the WAC Resume Seeding System to claim the tournament’s number one seed and a double-bye to the semifinal round. No. 2 seed Tarleton State (23-8, 16-4 WAC, 4.262 points) also secured a double-bye to Friday’s semifinals.
 
Also earning first-round byes to the March 14 quarterfinal round of the 2024 Hercules Tires WAC Basketball Tournament at the Orleans Arena were No. 3 seed UT Arlington (18-13, 13-7 WAC, 0.709 points) and No. 4 seed Seattle U (18-13, 11-9 WAC, -0.314 points).
 
The men’s tournament will begin with two games in first-round action on March 13. No. 5 seed Utah Valley (16-15, 11-9 WAC, -1.044 points) will collide with No. 8 seed California Baptist (15-16, 8-12 WAC, -4.440 points) to kick off the opening round at 6 p.m. PT. No. 6 seed Stephen F. Austin (17-14, 10-10 WAC, -1.543 points) and No. 7 seed Abilene Christian (15-16, 10-10 WAC, -2.692 points) will close out the first day at 8:30 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
 
The winner of the Utah Valley-CBU game will take on Seattle U at 6 p.m. PT and the winner of the SFA-ACU contest will match up with UT Arlington at 8:30 p.m. PT in quarterfinal action on March 14. The advancing team from quarterfinal number one will take on No. 1 seed GCU at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN+ and the winner of quarterfinal number two will advance to face No. 2 seed Tarleton State at 8:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU on March 15.
 
The 2024 Hercules Tires Men’s Basketball Tournament championship game will air live on ESPN2 at 8:30 p.m. PT on March 16.
