ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Kendal Coleman and Grand Canyon’s JaKobe Coles have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Coleman, a senior forward, poured in 24 points to lead all WAC scorers in points per game average last week in a narrow 66-64 loss to GCU on Feb. 22 in Phoenix. Coleman hit a conference-best 9-of-13 shots (.692) from the field, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, and pulled down seven rebounds to pace the Lancers. Coleman also chipped in one block and one steal at GCU.

Coles, a senior transfer forward, led the way for GCU in the home court win against CBU on Feb. 22, scoring 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Coles added three rebounds, three steals and dished out two assists in the victory for the Lopes.
