ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U's Lamija Avdic, along with the doubles duo of Noelia Lorca and Ximena Morales of Tarleton State, have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, March 16.

Lamija Avdic, a sophomore, displayed outstanding resilience and skill during a challenging doubleheader. Despite the Redhawks' losses to tough competitors Sacramento State and Saint Mary's, Avdic remained undefeated in both her singles and doubles matches. In a notable performance against Saint Mary's, Avdic secured a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the No. 1 singles position, marking a significant win for her team. Additionally, her doubles efforts were dominant, leading her matches before they were eventually left unfinished.

Doubles team Lorca and Morales contributed significantly to Tarleton State's success, securing their fourth consecutive victory in doubles at the No. 2 spot. Their performance was crucial in Tarleton State's 4-3 victory over Stephen F. Austin. This victory marked the team's sixth consecutive win, with Lorca and Morales maintaining an impressive season record of 6-1. Lorca additionally excelled in singles, achieving her seventh win of the season at the No. 3 spot in a fiercely contested match, including a decisive 6-0 shutout in the final set.
