ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Dominick Nelson has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, March 8.

Nelson, a junior transfer guard, captured his second straight player of the week honor, his third overall player of the week accolade and his fourth newcomer of the week citation this season after leading Utah Valley to a 15-1 conference record and regular season title with a final weekend sweep. Nelson averaged 23.5 points per game over the regular season’s final road trip, tallying 22 points and four rebounds at Abilene Christian on March 6 and 25 points, six boards and two blocks at Tarleton State on March 8.
