ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Miranda Lista and Tarleton State’s Shelby Schultz have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Apr. 5.
 
Lista, a senior infielder, recorded her first career multi-homer game, and the first by an ACU player since 2023, last Wednesday against No.14 Texas Tech as she went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI. Lista then led Abilene Christian to a series win over Utah Valley where she collected another home run, a double, three RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Across the week, Lista batted for an average of .333, drove in six runs, scored four times and hit three of her four total home runs this season.  
 
Schultz, a freshman left-handed pitcher, became the first freshman in Tarleton State’s DI era to reach 100 strikeouts and the first Texan to hit the century mark since 2017. Schultz tossed her first complete game shutout of the season against Utah Tech last Friday as she allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out nine. Schultz made two more appearances in relief in the UTU series where she pitched 2.1 innings, struck out five batters and didn’t allow a single baserunner. Schultz leads the WAC with 111 strikeouts this season, 32 more than the next highest pitcher in the conference.
