ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle University’s Filip Stipic and the Redhawk doubles team of Yuan Lu and Yu-Han Hsieh have been named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, April 6.
 
Senior Filip Stipic impressed in singles play, delivering a key performance on Court 1 during Seattle U’s 5-2 Senior Day win over Portland State. After dropping the first set 5-7, Stipic rallied to win the second set 7-5 and dominated the third with a commanding 6-1 finish, clinching a crucial point for the Redhawks. The win marked his fourth straight singles victory.
 
The doubles team of Yuan Lu and Yu-Han Hsieh provided a spark at the start of the day, earning a 6-3 win on Court 1 in their first appearance together in the top doubles slot this season. Their performance helped Seattle U secure the doubles point early, setting the tone for the team’s most complete outing of the year. The 5-2 win over Portland State marked an impressive moment for the Redhawks, with both Lu and Hsieh playing pivotal roles in the team’s success.
