ACU’s Morozov Named 2024-25 WAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year

ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Daniel Morozov captured the top individual league award for the 2024-25 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) tennis season, as Morozov was voted the WAC Men’s Player of the Year by the conference’s head coaches.

Morozov highlighted a major awards sweep for WAC tournament champion Abilene Christian, as teammate Tomas Tischner was selected as the WAC Freshman of the Year and head coach Juan Nunez received WAC Coach of the Year honors.

Morozov and Tischner led six total Abilene Christian all-conference choices, being joined by Benjamin McDonald and the doubles team of Ethan Scribner and Alejandro Verdasco on the All-WAC first team. Merse Deli represented the Wildcats on the all-conference second team. UT Arlington also saw five total players recognized, with Andres Medus and Pedro Sasso as singles players and the pairing of Meethre Barot and Sasso a double tandem on the first team, and Yazid Lahjomri and Mattia Riccia as singles players on the second team. Grand Canyon standouts Brice Patoux (first team), Andreas Loizas and Diordan Macababbad (second team) represented the Lopes as all-conference performers, and Seattle U’s Filip Stipic and the doubles team of Yuan Lu and Yu-Han Hsieh rounded out the all-conference second team.
