ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon, fresh off winning the 2025 University Credit Union WAC Softball Tournament, officially received the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Softball Championship on Sunday night.

The Lopes (46-6) qualified for the Tucson Regional hosted by No. 13 Arizona (45-11) and will battle with Ole Miss (37-17) on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. MST to kick off their NCAA championship run. Santa Clara (32-20) is the fourth team to compete in the Tucson Regional at Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.

Grand Canyon is set to make its fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Regionals, first appearance not at the Los Angeles Regional, after capturing the WAC tournament title with a thrilling 4-3 11-inning victory over Tarleton State on Saturday. The Lopes won two games in the NCAA Regionals last year and advanced to the regional championship following victories over San Diego State and No. 17 Virginia Tech.
