ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Dominique Daniels Jr. and Southern Utah’s Jaiden Feroah have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Jan. 25.

Daniels, a graduate student guard, averaged 36.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game for CBU during a 2-0 homestand. Daniels scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down five rebounds while dishing out five assists in a 73-64 victory over Utah Tech on Jan. 21. Against first-place Utah Valley on Jan. 24, Daniels brought CBU back with a career-high 47 points on 13 made field goals and an 18-of-21 performance at the free-throw line. Daniels added six rebounds and three steals in the 78-71 overtime win for the Lancers against Utah Valley.

Feroah, a senior transfer forward, posted averages of 26.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Southern Utah, shooting a fantastic 74.1 percent (20-of-27) from the floor. Feroah scored a team-high 18 points while pulling down 11 rebounds and dishing out five assists in an 84-70 win for Southern Utah over first place Utah Valley on Jan. 21. In a setback at Utah Tech on Jan. 24, Feroah hit 13-of-16 field goals and made 8-of-9 shots at the line for a game-high 35 points, adding a third straight overall double-double with 12 rebounds for the Thunderbirds.
