ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Ethan Potter and Southern Utah’s Elijah Duval have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Feb. 22.

Potter, a senior forward, averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in two starts last week, shooting 59.1 percent from the floor during a Texas road swing. Potter registered his sixth double-double of the season at UT Arlington on Feb. 19, logging 16 points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals for the Trailblazers. Potter closed the weekend with 17 points, six boards and two blocks in an 80-72 victory at Tarleton State on Feb. 21.

Duval, a freshman guard, led the conference in scoring last week with a 21.0 points per game average on 45.5 percent shooting, adding in 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest. Duval finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals at Tarleton State on Feb. 19 before scoring 19 points at Abilene Christian on Feb. 21.
