ARLINGTON, Texas – Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Commissioner Rebekah Ray has issued a public reprimand to the Utah Tech University men’s basketball program following a flagrant-2 technical foul assessed to Utah Tech forward Dario Domingos with 15:06 remaining in the second half of a Feb. 21 contest at Tarleton State University.
Upon review, the Conference determined that the conduct met the standard for a fighting technical under National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules. This flagrant-2 technical foul was the second incurred by a Utah Tech student-athlete during the 2025–26 season and, in accordance with Conference Bylaws, results in a one-game suspension for Domingos.
“The Western Athletic Conference maintains zero tolerance for violent or unsportsmanlike conduct in Conference competition,” Ray said. “The Conference will continue to uphold its sportsmanship standards and take appropriate action when those standards are violated.”
The Conference further notes that any additional fighting technical fouls or related conduct violations by the Utah Tech men’s basketball program during the remainder of the season may subject the institution to enhanced disciplinary measures under Conference authority. Such measures may include suspension of the head coach, multi-game suspensions for involved student-athletes, and other penalties deemed appropriate under the Conference’s Bylaws and sportsmanship policies.
