ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Eleonora Visnevskyte and Tarleton State’s Tayler Wessely have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition period between March 13 and 22.
Visnevskyte, a freshman from Vilnius, Lithuania, captured fifth place in the 5000-meter run at the Aztec Coastal Classic in San Diego with a time of 16:57.90. That time is best in the WAC and the 11th fastest time in NCAA this season.
Wessely, a senior from Parkersburg, Iowa, set a Tarleton State school record in the hammer throw while winning the event at the ACU Wes Kittley Invite, with a toss of 61.45 meters (201’7”). Her throw is best in the WAC this season and ranks 13th in the country.
