SEATTLE, Washington – The 2022 Western Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship match featured the number one seed Utah Valley against number three seed NM State at Championship Field Stadium in Seattle, Washington on campus of Seattle U. The Aggies of NM State are the 2022 WAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Champions after a 1-0 victory over the Wolverines.

The game was tight with only one goal scored in the match, just like the previous two matches the Aggies played. Makenna Gottschalk and the Aggie defense played phenomenal the entire tournament, not allowing a score the entire week. Gottschalk was ultimately named the tournament MVP after recording 15 saves throughout the week. Tati Jerman scored the lone goal of the match during the first half of the game.

NM State will now wait for its name to be called by the NCAA Selection Committee to find out seeding along with its next opponent. The NCAA women's soccer selection show to be aired on Monday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. CST on NCAA.com.
