ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Gianna Gourley and Utah Valley's Sydney Bushman was selected to the 2023 Academic All-America Teams in Division I women’s soccer by College Sports Communicators on Wednesday.

Gourley, a senior forward, was named to the Academic All-America First Team boasting a 3.92 GPA while pursuing an MBA. This is her second consecutive year as an All-America team selection, as she received second team honors in 2022. Gourley was named the 2023 WAC Offensive Player of the Year, finishing the season with 21 goals and 47 points.

Bushman, a senior defender, earned an Academic All-America Third Team selection owning a 3.89 GPA while working on her MBA. She was named the WAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and received First Team All-WAC honors. Bushman led the Wolverines to seven shutouts during the 2023 campaign and also chipped in offensively with four goals, two assists and 10 points.
