ARLINGTON, Texas – New Mexico State’s
Dijana Mazumdar has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Swimmer the Week, for the competition week ending on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Mazumdar, a freshman, picked up her second WAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week award after leading New Mexico State to a dual meet victory over Utah Tech by winning two individual events and two relay events. Mazumdar was the only competitor to swim below 24 seconds in the 50 freestyle, recording a time of 23.91. She won the very next event in the 100 freestyle, reaching the wall at the 52.65 mark. Mazumdar anchored the 200 medley relay team who finished first in 1:45.98 and posted a split of 23.65. Mazumdar was also the second leg in the 400 free relay where the Aggies claimed the top spot with a time of 3:29.69 and finished her split in 52.44 seconds.
