EUGENE, Ore. – Defending national runner-up Greta Karinauskaite from California Baptist earned a second straight first-team All-America honor in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase to close the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 8 at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.

Karinauskaite ran her best 3000-meter steeplechase time of the season, clocking a 9:35.56 showing in the national final to finish in fourth place. Karinauskaite was the first WAC women’s outdoor track and field athlete to repeat as a national top-five finisher in a given event since Amber Kaufmann from Hawai’I in the high jump from 2008-10.

Karinauskaite was the fifth WAC athlete at the 2024 NCAA Championships to earn All-America accolades, joining fellow first-teamers Lucas Van Klaveren from UT Arlington (men’s decathlon) and Israel Oloyede from Grand Canyon (men’s hammer throw), and second-team choices Randon Gray from UT Arlington (men’s pole vault) and Valentin Soca from CBU (men’s 10,000-meter run).
