2026 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Results
ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State won their first ever WAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field crown while the Utah Valley women's team made it three titles in a row at the 2026 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Maverick Stadium. The Texans men scored 200 points while the Wolverines women had 211 points.
UVU was runner-up on the men’s side with 178 points, followed by host UT Arlington in third place with 77 points. TSU finished in second place in the women’s standings with 176 points and UTA checked in third with 159 points.
The meet high point winners were
David Mvundura from Tarleton State in men’s track and
Lauren Roy for the Texans in women’s track, with
Sir Jonathan Sims from TSU in men’s field and
Eliza Lemberga from UTA in women’s field.
Men's winners - Saturday
Tarleton State
Sir Jonathan Sims of repeated as champion in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 15.80m (51-10). Sims also placed second in the long jump on Friday.
Jacob Thomas secured the men’s pole vault title for the Texans, clearing 5.06m (16-7.25) to stand atop the event podium.
Davi Torres soared in the men’s high jump, clearing 2.14m (7-0.25) for the event victory.
Caterrin Cox flew in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, blazing down the track with a time of 13.55 with a wind of 2.7 m/s.
David Mvundura was on top of the medal stand in the men’s 200-meter dash, crossing in 20.40 to claim the event win. In the first relay action of championship Saturday, Tarleton State emerged victorious in the men’s 4x100m with a gold medal time of 39.89.
Utah Valley
Sila Kiplakat won two events on the final day of competition, winning the men’s 1500-meter run championship, crossing the finish line in 3:43.00 and the men’s 5000-meter run, rolling to victory in 14:45.22 just ahead of teammate
Porter Whitworth at 14:45.27.
Gavin Stafford turned in a rocket fast time in the men’s 100-meter dash, hitting the line with a time of 10.001 (with a wind of 5.1 m/s), an eyelash ahead of Tarleton State's
JayBrion Jones at 10.003.
UT Arlington
Lucas Cano picked up the win in the men’s discus with a top throw of 54.93m (180-2).
Jayden Haynes cruised in the men’s 400-meter dash, racing to the finish line in 46.31.
Alex Kalmar was crowned the champion in a winning time of 1:50.28, just ahead of teammate
Daniel Armstrong at 1:50.32.
Southern Utah
Bronis MacDougall stood atop the field in the men’s javelin, unleashing a throw of a 67.41m (221-2).
Abilene Christian
Ryan McMeen captured the men’s 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 51.59. The Wildcats capped the meet by taking the men’s 4x400m relay, in a time of 3:10.35.
Women's winners - Saturday
Utah Valley
Grace Degarimore earned the first gold medal of championship Saturday in the women’s discus event, covering 52.95m (173-08), the 26th best throw in NCAA DI this season, to capture the event win. Degarimore also won the WAC women's shot put event on Friday.
Aubrey Tasker won the women’s high jump, clearing 1.71m (5-7.25).
Ella Hopper kept a successful weekend rolling for Utah Valley in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, clocking a winning time of 57.79.
Morgan Nokes of Utah Valley added the women’s 5000-meter run crown at the WAC Championships in a victorious 16:18.78 to go along with her 10,000-meter win on Thursday night.
Tarleton State
Freshman
Jayana Phillips led the way in the women’s triple jump, leaping 12.33m (40-5.5) to pick up first place points for the Texans. TSU’s entry in the women’s 4x100m that was anchored by
Emma Holmes claimed victory with a time of 44.48.
Malak Rashwan brought home the women’s 100-meter hurdles gold medal at the WAC Championships thanks to a finals time of 13.49.
Holmes earned 10 points in the women’s 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 53.21.
Lauren Roy sprinted her way to the title in the women’s 100-meter dash, running a time of 11.03 with 4.3m/s wind and added the women’s 200-meter dash championship to her shining meet, logging a wind-aided 22.79.
California Baptist
Petra Kis won the title in the women’s 1500-meter run, just finishing ahead of three other runners who were within .18 of each other.
UT Arlington
Emilia Mandl captured the gold medal in the women’s 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:11.40 to take the win.
Abilene Christian
The Wildcats captured the final event of the weekend in the women’s 4x400m relay, clocking a winning time of 3:45.33.
