ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Victoria Cameron and Sofia DeGroot have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the competition week ending on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Cameron earned her first weekly track honor after a stellar performance in the 60-meter dash at the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech at the Sports and Performance Center. She clocked a WAC leading time of 7.19 in the finals, ranking as the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA this season. Cameron broke Tarleton State’s school record twice during the meet, surpassing the previous mark of 7.45 with a preliminary time of 7.27 before resetting it again in the finals.  
 
DeGroot stood out in the field events with a personal-best leap of 5.83m in the long jump, winning the event and setting a new personal record, improving on her previous best of 5.78m. She also excelled in the triple jump, securing second place in the WAC with a mark of 12.10m.
