WAC LEADERS AFTER NONCONFERENCE ACTION
Through nonconference play, Grand Canyon’s
Junior Diouf led all WAC players in scoring with eight goals and three assists for 19 points in just eight matches (goal and point totals ranked sixth in NCAA Division I as of Sept. 30). Utah Valley’s
Keegan Oyler paced the conference with six assists over seven matches to rank fourth in the nation. Utah Valley’s
Kolby Sessions posted a .947 save percentage to not only lead the WAC but also the entire nation over seven starts. Sessions’ 0.14 goals against average also checked in second in the country.
D’AGOSTINO’S SCORING STREAK REACHED SEVEN STRAIGHT MATCHES
California Baptist forward
Blake D’Agostino continued his torrid scoring pace with a goal in a seventh straight match, finding the back of the net for the Lancers in the 79th minute of a 1-1 draw at UC Riverside on Sept. 26. D’Agostino’s equalizer at UCR was his third goal in the run of play during the 2025 season, as the sophomore striker has also gone a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kick attempts. D’Agostino moved into 11th in NCAA D I men’s soccer in total goals this season as of Sept. 30.
MATSHAZI CATCHES FIRE FOR SURGING SJSU
San José State sophomore forward
Arnold Matshazi has been a key component to San José State’s three-match winning streak and six-match unbeaten run overall. Matshazi has scored three goals over his past four starts in all competitions, registering the first brace of his collegiate career in a draw with No. 3 Stanford on Sept. 17. Matshazi was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying the match-winning goal for the Spartans in a 2-1 triumph on the road at UC Davis on Sept. 24.
TWO TEAMS FINISH NONCONFERENCE SLATE UNBEATEN ON THE ROAD
Both San José State and Utah Valley accomplished a feat not equaled by any other WAC peers in 2025, completing the nonconference schedule unbeaten in true road and neutral site matches. Utah Valley won twice on the road and once in a neutral setting outside of conference play, while San José State was an impressive 6-0-0 away from home to kick off the season.
