WAC VB25 Release Week 9

UTAH VALLEY WRAPS UP THE FIRST HALF OF LEAGUE PLAY TIED AT THE TOP
Utah Valley capped off the first half of WAC play with a pair of wins against California Baptist and Southern Utah, extending its winning streak to three matches and tying Utah Tech at the top of the WAC standings at 5-1. This is the first time since November 2022 the Wolverines have held a share of first place in the conference standings. Last week, Bella Wooden tallied 11 total blocks with five being solo blocks. Wooden continues to be the best blocker in the nation, leading NCAA D-I volleyball in total blocks (130) and ranking second in blocks per set (1.94). Wooden also leads the Wolverines to being the best blocking team in the country, totaling the most total blocks (227) and blocks per set (3.39) in the nation this season. Utah Valley will have its chance at redemption against Utah Tech this week as the Wolverines host the Trailblazers in a battle for first place in the WAC on Saturday, Oct. 25.

UT ARLINGTON ENDS LOSING SKID WITH BIG WAC UPSET
UT Arlington snapped a four-match losing streak by defeating the WAC standings leader Utah Tech 3-1, handing the Trailblazers their first loss in conference play this season and ending their six-match winning streak. Jalie Tritt and Evyn Snook led the Mavericks to victory by collecting 17 and 13 kills, respectively. Setter Mira Ledermueller and libero Samantha Glenn both earned their third WAC weekly honor this season in their respective positions for their stellar performances against the Trailblazers. UT Arlington looks to keep the momentum rolling as they host California Baptist on Thursday, Oct. 23.

TARLETON STATE REMAINS IN WAC TITLE HUNT
After missing the WAC tournament last season, Tarleton State has rebounded nicely in 2025 as the Texans sit third in the league standings with a 4-2 record halfway through conference play, just one game behind Utah Tech and Utah Valley for the standings lead. Emma Burke was named the WAC Player of the Week after leading Tarleton State to a 3-2 win over Abilene Christian by recording 14 kills with a .500 hitting percentage along with nine total blocks. The Texans will fight for their first three-match winning streak of the season as they host CBU on Saturday, Oct. 25.
