ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Dorcas Jepkosgei has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the competition week ending on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Jepkosgei, a freshman, earned a third weekly conference honor of the season after a stellar performance at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, one of the largest meets in the country, on Oct. 4 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Competing in the Women’s Habanero 5K, Jepkosgei ran a program record 5K time of 16:09.5 (5:12 average mile split) to finish second in the 278-runner field, guiding UT Arlington to a sixth-place team finish with 229 points.
