ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Faith Webber and Kate Shirts, and Abilene Christian’s Lili Ross have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 29.
 
Webber, a graduate forward, recorded her third straight game with at least one goal following a brace against California Baptist in an explosive 7-1 victory for Utah Valley. Webber scored the go-ahead goal in the 33rd minute with a composed finish inside the box and then added her second in the 56th minute on a one-touch strike off a cross. After three conference matches, Webber leads the WAC in shots (30), points (10) and goals (5).
 
Shirts, a junior forward/defender, anchored the UVU defensive unit for 78 minutes and helped limit the Lancers to just one goal and three shots on target. The Wolverine defense, led in part by Shirts, kept the ball pinned on UVU’s offensive side as the team controlled nearly 60 percent of possession throughout the match. Shirts also scored the first goal of the match for UVU with an equalizer in the ninth minute.
 
Ross, a senior goalkeeper, recorded two saves in 45 minutes versus Utah Tech and four saves in 45 minutes against Southern Utah, keeping the Thunderbirds off the board in the first half of the match. Ross logged a .857 save percentage on the weekend.
