ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s
Payton Hull and Utah Valley’s
Kaylee Headrick have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 14.
Hull, a junior guard, played an entire 40 minutes against a Texas Tech team that is ranked 25
th in the NCAA NET rankings and recorded her fourth 20-point game of the season with 23 points against the Lady Raiders. Hull notched her 30
th consecutive game with at least 10 points as she also made a career-high nine free throws and tied a career-high nine rebounds. Hull currently leads the WAC in scoring with 17.9 points per game.
Headrick, a senior forward from Colorado State, tied a career-high 18 points and set a career-high 11 rebounds to finish with her first double-double of the season in Utah Valley’s 64-58 victory over Kansas City. Headrick shot 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from the field and tagged on three assists, two steals and one block in the game.
