ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Bradyn Hubbard and UT Arlington’s Marcell McCreary have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Hubbard, a senior forward, led ACU to a 75-68 win over Texas Southern on Dec. 22 in the nonconference finale for the Wildcats. Hubbard scored 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor, hitting 8-of-10 attempts from the free-throw line. Hubbard chipped in six rebounds, three assists and four steals in the victory against Texas Southern.

McCreary, a senior transfer guard, was the leading scorer for UTA in a 69-57 nonconference win at Oral Roberts on Dec. 22. McCreary hit 6-of-11 shots from the floor, including 4-of-7 3-pointers, to pace the Mavericks with 16 points in the victory. McCreary added three rebounds and two steals in the triumph for UTA.
