2025 WAC ITF Championships Final PDF Results
SPOKANE, Wash. – It came down to the wire in both competitions, but Grand Canyon secured another men’s title and Utah Valley took home the women’s hardware to close the 2025 WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday evening at The Podium.
Grand Canyon tallied 157 points in the men’s team competition to edge out Utah Valley’s 154 points in the final team standings. It was the eighth men’s indoor championship for GCU as a WAC member, dating back to the 2016 conference meet. UT Arlington rounded out the top three with a score of 136.5 points.
Utah Valley captured its first WAC indoor team crown in the women’s draw by scoring 169 points during the meet. Tarleton State earned runner-up honors with 148 points and Grand Canyon placed third with 131 points.
UT Arlington’s Alex Kalmar captured men’s Most Outstanding Track Athlete honors for the meet, while Tarleton State’s Sir Jonathan Sims earned men’s Most Outstanding Field Athlete accolades. Utah Valley’s Quincy Bonds was the women’s Most Outstanding Track Athlete, and Tarleton State’s Sofia DeGroot was the women’s Most Outstanding Field Athlete.
Tarleton State’s Gabriele Tosti defended his title in the men’s triple jump final, posting an opening round attempt of 15.90m (52-2.0). Teammate Sims placed second (15.53m/50-11.50) and Grand Canyon’s Godwin Charles finished third (15.12m/49-7.25) in the event.
In the women’s triple jump, Taryn Burkett from Grand Canyon established a meet record in round three with a jump of 13.34m (43-9.25). Other top finishers were Tarleton State’s DeGroot (12.61m/41-4.50) and Abilene Christian’s Luize Velmere (12.32m/40-5.00).
Winnie Kipsang from UT Arlington successfully defended her championship in the women’s mile, shaving nearly 12 seconds off her preliminary time with a meet record run of 4:43.10. Utah Valley’s Elisabeth Ferrell was second after crossing the finish line in 4:52.36 and Tarleton State’s Morgan Lamberson was third with a time of 4:53.74.
Utah Valley’s Bonds broke the meet record in the women’s 60-meter hurdles final, besting the field with a time of 8.18 to take first place. Tarleton State’s Malak Rashwan was second in 8.49 and Amanda Thrue clocked in third with a time of 8.53.
Victoria Cameron from Tarleton State ran a blazing time in the women’s 60-meter dash, establishing a meet record with a time of 7.21. Cameron outpointed Utah Valley’s Bonds, who ran a PR time of 7:35 to finish as runner-up. Tarleton State teammate Hannah Dudley was third with a time of 7.37.
Two-time WAC men’s 60-meter dash champion Justin Raines from Grand Canyon earned an unprecedented third victory in the event, claiming the top spot with a season best time of 6.64. Defending champion Gabe Remy from Utah Valley was second with a PR time of 6.69 and Raines’ GCU teammate Erin Brown was third in 6.708.
UT Arlington’s Kipsang defended another title in the women’s 800 -meter run, clocking a championship time of 2:07. 97 for her second win of the afternoon. Teammate Emilia Mandl was second with a time of 2:11.19 and Tarleton State’s Lamberson placed third in 2:12.19.
Grand Canyon’s Raines added his second triumph of the day in the men’s 200-meter dash, running a facility record in the distance with a time 20.68. GCU teammates Brown (20.73) and Miguel Rosario (20.79) joined Raines on the top of the podium.
