2025 WAC Men's Golf Championship First Round Results

PAYSON, Ariz.
– Seattle U opened a three-stroke team lead on Friday following the opening round of the 2025 WAC Men’s Golf Championship at Chapparal Pines.

The Redhawks combined to shoot a team 2-over-par 290 after 18 holes to lead Grand Canyon (293, +5) by three shots and Tarleton State (297, +9) by seven shots following a breezy first round on the par-72 layout. UT Arlington and California Baptist were tied for fourth with matching scores of 12-over-par 300.

Defending WAC individual medalist Kevin Li from Seattle U fired a back nine 35 to earn a share of the first round lead following a 1-under-par 71. Tarleton State’s Carson Gallaher made a round-high eight birdies to join Li in the second round final pairing following a 1-under 71 of his own. Seattle U’s Walker Lamb and Ben Ragland led five players tied for third at even par 72, including Abilene Christian’s Gregoire Hoyeau, Grand Canyon’s Gavin O’Neill and Utah Valley’s Paxton Maxwell.
