Seattle U, GCU, Utah Valley’s Huddleston Officially Selected For 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals

ARLINGTON, Texas
– The reigning Western Athletic Conference (WAC) team and individual tournament champions officially earned automatic berths, while one additional conference team secured an at-large selection into the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship on Wednesday.

Conference team champion Seattle U will travel to the Bremerton Regional at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Washington, and WAC individual medalist Dane Huddleston from Utah Valley will compete at the Reno Regional at the Montreux Golf & Country Club in Nevada. WAC Championship runner-up Grand Canyon also claimed an at-large bid into the Reno Regional and will join Huddleston at the Montreux Golf & Country Club. The best five teams and low individual not on an advancing team at each of the six NCAA Regional sites from May 12-14 will advance to the NCAA DI National Championship tournament on May 23-28 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
 
Seattle U won the WAC tournament for the first time since 2017 after finishing at 20-over-par 884 (290-296-298) during the conference championship at Chaparral Pines Golf Club in Payson, Arizona on April 25-27. Defending tournament medalist Kevin Li paced the Redhawks in solo second place at 1-under-par 215 (71-72-72), while freshman Walker Lamb shared fourth place at 1-over 217 (72-77-68) to lead Seattle U to victory.

Huddleston secured his fifth individual win over 11 starts thus far this season at the WAC Championship, defeating Li on the second playoff hole after finishing regulation play with a matching score of 1-under-par 215 (75-68-72). Huddleston was the top ranked WAC individual player in the most recent Clippd NCAA rankings, checking in 59th in the country.

GCU remained the top ranked team in the WAC at 58th in the most recent Clippd rankings. The Lopes earned their fourth top-three showing of the year after claiming solo second place at the WAC Championship with a score of 23-over-par 887 (293-300-294). Freshman Nixon Lauritzen led the way for GCU in ninth place at the conference tournament (73-74-74=221, +5), and Kiko Coelho (75-75-72) and Gavin O’Neill (72-75-75) shared 10th place at 6-over-par 222.
