Tarleton State Jumps Ahead in the 2026 WAC Men’s Golf Championship Heading into Final Round

McKINNEY, Texas
 – Tarleton State took over the team standings lead in the 2026 WAC Men’s Golf Championship following a second round where the Texans shot an even par 288 as a team. UT Arlington’s Arth Sinha grew his individual lead to five strokes over the rest of the field after shooting his second consecutive round under par.

Tarleton State was led by Alvaro Pastor and Kellen Young who both shot 70 (-2) in round two as Pastor jumped up to a tie in second place with a combined two-round score of 142 (-2). The Texans hold the lead over UT Arlington by just two strokes and are five strokes ahead of third-place Abilene Christian. Both the Mavericks and the Wildcats shot 296 (+8) as a team in the second round.

Sinha recorded his second round under par in the championship, carding a 69 (-3) in round two and putting his total score at 137 (-7). Sinha sits five strokes ahead of Pastor and Utah Valley’s Colby Hutchens who tied Sinha for the lowest score of the second round at 69 (-3).
